Our Privacy Policy

Introduction

When you use the Contribution Project website, Softr dashboard, or any other services provided by the Contribution Project, Purpose Commons,  the Purpose Science and Innovation Exchange at Cornell University, or GripTape ('the Services'), you will share some information with us. We care about your privacy and are committed to protecting it. We wrote this Privacy Policy to explain what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have for controlling, accessing, and updating your information.

By using any of our Services, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Other products and services you may use in conjunction with our Services are subject to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy employed by the given service; these include, but are not limited to: Google Tools, Jotform, Airtable, and Zoom.

We collect information you choose to share on the services

When you use our services, we collect the information that you voluntarily choose to share here. This includes, for example, your account information (name and email address), the content of your profile (including photo, date of birth, contact info, and any other details you include), and the content of the forms, support requests, and other material collected through this dashboard.

Be aware that other members can save content that you’ve shared with them and copy it outside the services, without our knowledge or yours. Always use common sense with what you share through our Services, as you would on any Internet site. Don’t post anything you would not want shared or saved.

Also, know that when you communicate with the Contribution Project or GripTape for support or any other reason, we collect the information you voluntarily share with us (questions, feedback, suggestions, etc.).

We collect information we receive when you use our services

When you use our services, we collect information about which areas you’ve used and how you’ve used them. This helps us understand what our members like to do with our Services and helps us find ways to make the Services work better.

  • Usage information. We collect information about your activity through our Services, like when and how frequently you use them, what technology you used to access the Services (i.e., mobile or desktop computer, browser, etc.), pages you visited, number of messages, posts, and comments you made, and if you clicked on notifications.

  • Content information. We collect information about the content you provide, like whether other members have viewed it, commented on it, or liked it.

  • Information collected by cookies and other technologies. When you log in to our Services, some information is automatically collected, such as your computer's IP address and operating system, browser type, address of a referring website, time/date of your visit, and site pages visited. We collect this information with tools that include Google Analytics and Cookies.

  • Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Data collected by this service is “aggregated” (combined with the same information from others) and is not personally identifiable.

  • Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer by a website to give you a unique identification. Typically, this information is also aggregated. If we link it to any of your account information, we take industry-standard measures to maintain the anonymity and security of the data. The Contribution Project and GripTape do do not require that you accept cookies, but some functionality on our Services may be disabled if you decline to accept them. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it.
